Another box

I made this exploding box back in October. At the time, my sister was keeping four puppies for a friend of hers who was in the hospital. They are both chihuahua breeders. We thought this might be a great get well present for her. Please ignore all the clutter in the background...lol.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Wow, what a year! At this time last year, I was still working at McDonald's, though I was on a leave of absence through the winter. I would do that every winter because I'd always get extremely sick hanging out the drive-thru window in the cold... So, I happened to need to go to the bank one day, and noticed a sign in their window that they were looking for help. I went online and applied, and within a week or so, I was working there. (started Jan. 3, 2007) What a change from fast food! And a much needed one, as well.
In Feb. I had a pretty bad accident on my way in to work one morning. I was driving our Toyota Tacoma and hit black ice on our curvy mountain road. I hit a bank and flipped onto the roof. Somehow, I was able to crawl out on my own steam and was remarkably not hurt too terribly bad. I am still getting monthly adjustments on my back, however...who knows how long that will have to continue.
Working at the bank is a part-time gig, so I though I would try to sell some scrapbooking supplies on the side. I signed up with MemoryWorks in April. I had my first show in May and another in July. Then work got crazy with vacations and what not, I was working nearly full-time, and have been ever since. I'm hoping things calm down soon and I can start scrapping and having scrap parties more. I really enjoy that far more than bank work.
My husband and I started looking into fertility treatments in October...nothing has really been done to this point, we're just in the beginning, testing stages. Hopefully it works and we have a baby some day soon. What a blessing that would be.
So now, here we sit with one week left in the year and nothing really exciting to report on...but that's how real life is sometimes...

Merry Christmas! Happy New Year!

Leaving...on a jet plane...

I'm flying to Indiana in a matter of hours. An early Christmas. I can hardly wait!
I'm very nervous that they're going to lose my luggage, though. But I have no choice but to check it because I'm hauling Christmas goodies along with me. Ah well, I'm sure all will work out great.

Over at MemoryWorks, I was involved in a Secret Santa Swap. Today was gift opening day...sooo fun! I got some great scrapping supplies including the McKenna kit from K&Co, pretty buttons and rub-on transfers. Lots of other goodies, but no time to list them.

See ya in a few days!

Nothing new...so here's a video...

Well, my life isn't that exciting right now. Just mostly hectic with work and getting ready for Christmas and activities every weekend. So I was enjoying some downtime and came across this youtube video. I'm sure it's widely seen already, but new to me and amusing.

I'm going to a Penn State men's basketball this Saturday night with my little sister and my cousin, so maybe that will give me something interesting to talk about.

Where does time go?

Wow, it seems like just yesterday was the last time I posted...and now it's been nearly a month. I wish I could say I have been supremely busy, but that's not the case. Or that I've been working on lots and lots of scrapping stuff to share, but that's definitely not the case. I guess I've just been neglecting my blog. Ah well. I'm back for now.

A kind lady from the MemoryWorks team posted a challenge on her blog that I decided to attempt to take part in. I did a digital layout based off of her layout "First Day" in her idea gallery.

Here's my take.

I got the kit at Peppermint Creative. I definitely recommend checking them out. They have tons of great kits for digital scrappers. This one is called Twinkle Toes and is actually currently their free download.

Vaaaaaaaacaaaaaaaaation!!!

Tomorrow I leave (after work) for a few days of rest and relaxation at my dad's house in Indiana. My sister lives with my dad and has about a dozen chihuahuas there (she's a breeder) so this should be fun. I'm excited to see my dad, but I'm also planning a day of running around trying to see some of my friends who live there. One just bought a dog kennel in Muncie, so I'm going to see that. And another has just moved back to Indiana after living in Alaska and Arkansas for over 6 years with the Air Force. I haven't seen her since my wedding almost 4 years ago. How time flies.

So here's a few digital pages from some of my trips home last year to set the mood.

A day off.

Ah, a day off. How I've longed for one of these lately. I didn't get to sleep in, though. I had to take my dog to the groomer's and then get the oil changed in the truck in preparation for our trip to Indiana next week. Boy will it be great to go on a mini-vacation.

I didn't achieve anything scrap related today, though. I would have liked to, but decided a nap was more intriguing. I did finally print labels to put on the back of my Memory Works catalogs, though. That's an achievement to be proud of.

I hope everyone is having a lovely day.
